The Discharge Resource Unit (DRU) operates Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and supports safe, timely patient discharges to skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) or home. By coordinating transport and transitions of care, the DRU helps improve hospital throughput and alleviate inpatient capacity. Clinical Nurse I Provides direct, age-specific patient care and documents accurately. Supports prevention, wellness, and comfort needs. Administers medications safely, recognizing interactions. Educates patients/families and begins developing leadership skills. Clinical Nurse II Builds on advanced clinical skills, caring for a defined patient population. Recognizes and responds to changes in patient condition. Coordinates resources to meet patient/family needs. Provides education and assumes leadership responsibilities within the unit. Clinical Nurse III Serves as a clinical expert and role model for the unit. Anticipates and intervenes in evolving patient situations.
