Registered Nurse (RN) - C&A Behavioral Health
About The Position
The Behavioral Health RN provides superior psychiatric services for the child and adolescent population. The Behavioral Health RN can expect to enjoy various groups as a treatment modality e.g. symptom management groups, medication education, anger management, relaxation group, stress management, discharge planning and healthy lifestyles. Most common diagnoses include Depressive Disorders, schizophrenia, schizoaffective, Bipolar and Anxiety Disorders. The Behavioral Health RN acts as a patient advocate. The Behavioral Health RN provides support, information and direct care and utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. The Registered Nurse educates patients and families on significant self-care issues. The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required.
Requirements
- Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
Responsibilities
- Provide superior psychiatric services for the child and adolescent population.
- Conduct various groups as a treatment modality e.g. symptom management groups, medication education, anger management, relaxation group, stress management, discharge planning and healthy lifestyles.
- Act as a patient advocate.
- Provide support, information and direct care.
- Utilize equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures.
- Educate patients and families on significant self-care issues.
- Inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required.
