About The Position

Are you looking for a nursing opportunity where you can use and develop your critical thinking skills while caring for interesting and complex surgical patients? Then welcome to our unit! We are a 3-bed Adult Progressive Care Unit attached to a 32 bed medical surgical unit Full or part time schedules are available depending on candidate preference. L4WD Inpatient Surgery is a collaborative unit that cares for complex surgical patients. Home to thoracic, vascular, kidney transplant and general surgery patients (typically either laparoscopic or major abdominal procedures), the population is diverse and challenging. Our nurse-to-patient ratios are very attractive and Licensed Nursing Assistants are also part of our collaborative team. As a member of the L4WD team you will assess, plan, organize, provide and evaluate nursing care utilizing the nursing process. In addition, you will make nursing judgments and decisions and will be responsible for nursing care and documentation. We use a shared (team/self) scheduling model to coordinate schedules which include 12-hour shifts. If you enjoy working in a fast paced, team focused environment, please consider joining our team.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
Licensed RN with NH eligibility
BLS

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care.
Utilizes critical thinking and the nursing process to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, taking action to modify the plan of care or to elevate to the care team as necessary.
