About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Same Day Surgery plays a dynamic role, requiring clinical skills, critical thinking, and effective communication to ensure successful surgical outcomes. This position involves implementing professional nursing practice focused on the patient as a whole person, fostering a caring environment for healing and wellness. Requirements
- Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing or temporary Kentucky work permit.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Completion and maintenance of BLS.
- ACLS & PALS (or ENPC) within 6 months of hire.
- NIHSS within 3 months of hire.
- Successful completion of all competencies as identified on the departmental nurse competency grid.

Responsibilities
- Assessment and identification of patient needs and implementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service.
- Delegation of nursing care activities and provisions of supervision.
- Establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care.
- Assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems.
- Performs technical aspects of care competently.
- Has access to medication storage areas as required for job tasks.
- Follows Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
