How you will contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient Performs timely and accurate QI assessments Provides direct patient care on the Medical-Surgical unit using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Communicates effectively with the care team and the patient/family to support safe, high-quality outcomes. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department. Essential Functions Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities. Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families. Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation). Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support). Assesses learning needs and delivers age/culture-appropriate patient/family education. Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Participates in performance improvement and required continuing education. Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may take on-call assignments. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Performs other duties as assigned. Pre and Post operative care of patients Additional Information Patient Populations Served: Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult. Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record. Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens may be present. Physical Requirements (typical): Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, keyboard entry, and repetitive hand/arm movements; occasional sitting, squatting, and kneeling; rare running or climbing. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards including blood/body fluids, hazardous medications, and latex. Requirements

  • Applicants should have a current state RN license.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required
  • ACLS and PALS are required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree preferred but not required
  • Handle with Care preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
