About The Position

Weekend premium pay
This position is a weekend only position. This position cares for patients before, during and after angiography, interventional, angiographic cardiac catheterization procedures. This includes pre-procedure assessment, pre-medication, documentation of cath process, post-cath care, patient education. Assists other members of the cardiac catheterization laboratory.

• Knowledge of critical care nursing as normally acquired through 2 year’s experience working in a Medical Center or similar setting.
• Electrophysiology skills as gained through a minimum of 1 year experience working in the electrophysiology lab environment required.
• Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
• Knowledge and operation of intraaortic balloon pump.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor degree in nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing care of the catheterization/angiography, Interventional Radiology, EP, Neuro and Vascular patient population.
• Operates equipment, which includes but is not limited too; cardiac output, hemodynamic, pacemakers/ICD’s, intra-aortic balloon pump, etc. Transfers patients, stocks supplies and performs basic office procedures.
• Learns sterile technique, with the ability to gown and glove appropriately, open sterile trays and products, set up sterile trays,
• Records all pertinent information on appropriate data sheets and within the EMR.
• Assists in other radiology/cardiology procedures as needed.
• Performs clinical functions as needed.
