The perianesthesia registered nursing roles during phase I recovery focus on providing post anesthesia nursing care to the patient in the immediate post anesthesia period and transitioning them to phase II level of care, the inpatient setting, or to an intensive care setting for continued care,(providing a transition from a totally anesthetized state to one requiring less acute interventions). Care for patients of any age undergoing surgical procedures in the following specialties: ENT, Ophthalmology, Gynecology, General, Urology, Vascular, Orthopedics to include spines, Podiatry, Dental/oral surgery, and Pain Management
