Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) is a recognized healthcare provider offering a broad range of primary and specialty care services in Moore County, Lee County, Cumberland County, Chatham County, and surrounding counties. Locally owned and managed since 1952, PMC is committed to patient-centered, physician-led care utilizing the latest medical technology. As a PMC Nurse (RN), you will provide skilled nursing services to patients under the direction of a professional medical doctor, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant. Your role involves maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment, collecting and analyzing patient health data to determine diagnoses, identifying individualized outcomes, developing and implementing a plan of care, and evaluating patient progress collaboratively with the healthcare team. This position involves professional nursing work of considerable difficulty, adhering to physician outlines and organizational policies.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina Required
  • BLS/CPR certification required.
  • ACLS/PALS is required in specialty areas as determined by accrediting bodies (Cardiology, Infusion, Rheumatology Infusion, CT & GI Endo)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with an EMR system preferred
  • Two years of clinical/ambulatory nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing services to patients under the direction of a professional medical doctor, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant.
  • Provide a variety of related services to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
  • Collect patient health data.
  • Analyze the data to determine diagnoses.
  • Identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient.
  • Develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain the expected outcomes.
  • Implement the interventions identified in the plan of care.
  • Evaluate the patient’s progress toward attainment of the outcomes, working collaboratively with the healthcare team.
  • Perform professional nursing work of considerable difficulty including the care of patients as outlined by physicians and the objectives and policies of the organization.
  • Work within scope of license, develop and implement nursing plan of care for patients.
  • Communicate the plan of care to patients as prescribed by physician: test results, scheduling of specialized tests and treatment modalities, prescription drug instructions and other patient education including procedures and/or disease processes.
  • Obtain, review, verify and/or complete health care forms related to home health care, referrals, medical equipment and other patient/physician needs as appropriate.
  • Help maintain patient flow and workflow.
  • Work collaboratively as a team member of the clinic staff to provide a high quality and efficient service to patients and clinic.
  • Recognize patient rights and provide for confidentiality of patient information and for dignity through own performance and in relationship with others.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines; promote and support research activities; and utilize available resources to provide and improve patient care.
  • Participate in medical staff meetings as required.
  • Participate in quality improvement team efforts, including meetings to discuss quality assurance improvement initiatives.
  • Observe patients and report changes in patients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and take any necessary action.
  • Measure and record patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
  • Practice safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
  • Identify and/or communicate any safety issues for the clinical equipment, building, follows-up to ensure completion.
  • Assist physicians with examination and procedures as necessary.
  • Maintain patient areas and working spaces in a clean, neat and orderly manner.
  • Monitor use of supplies/medications; restock as necessary and inform appropriate persons of needs for additional supplies.
  • This position may be assigned to special projects or accountabilities when other priorities are identified.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
