The Registered Nurse (RN) position is for a Med/Surg Telemetry unit, which is a 22-bed unit specializing in general medical surgical and telemetry patients. This includes patients with conditions such as pneumonia, ESRD, Stroke, CHF, chest pain, and post-operative patients from GU, Urology, Orthopedics, Bariatrics, Heart Cath/PCI procedures. The patient population often has multiple co-morbidities and requires complex care, with admissions/transfers from ICU, ED, and PACU. The Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice focused on the patient as a whole person and creating a caring environment for healing and wellness. Under general supervision, the RN provides professional nursing services and patient care, following the established nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The role ensures adherence to hospital and department policies, nursing procedures, standards, and practices, utilizing critical thinking and creativity in clinical decision-making. Responsibilities include assessing and identifying patient needs, implementing appropriate interventions, delegating nursing care activities, providing supervision, establishing and maintaining a nursing care plan, ensuring interventions resolve problems, and competently performing technical aspects of care. The RN will have access to medication storage areas as required for job tasks and must follow all Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
