About The Position

Phoenix Home Care & Hospice is seeking an experienced and compassionate On-Call Registered Nurse to support their Wichita hospice team. This role is essential for delivering timely, skilled, and meaningful end-of-life care in patients’ homes, exactly when they and their families need it most. Requirements

• Kansas RN License or Compact License
• Strong clinical judgment with the ability to work independently in home settings
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• High-level organization, time management, and emotional resilience

Nice To Haves

• Hospice nursing experience preferred (Overland Park hospice experience a plus)

Responsibilities

• Respond to the immediate care needs of hospice patients and families during nights and weekends
• Complete routine and as-needed visits in home settings across the Overland Park region
• Triage urgent situations and collaborate with hospice physicians to provide comfort and symptom management
• Work closely with the interdisciplinary hospice team, community partners, and family caregivers
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold all regulatory and agency standards
• Deliver professional, compassionate, patient-centered hospice care
• Participate in ongoing training, education, and quality initiatives
