About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-acuity critical care in a 16-bed adult MICU . This opportunity is open to first-time travelers and requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to manage complex, critically ill patients. The RN will work night shifts and participate in every other weekend coverage . The MICU cares for adult patients with complex medical conditions, including: Sepsis and septic shock Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) Renal failure Heart failure and pre-VAD evaluations Alcohol withdrawal and overdose Multi-organ system failure Post-cardiac arrest patients with targeted temperature management Respiratory failure and shock Advanced therapies and devices include: CRRT EKOS IABP ECMO Impella Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:2 , with occasional 1:1 assignments based on acuity

Requirements

• Active New York State RN license (must be in hand at submission)
• Recent MICU / ICU nursing experience
• EPIC charting experience (required)
• Ability to work nights and every other weekend
• Strong critical-thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive critical care to MICU patients
• Perform continuous patient assessments and hemodynamic monitoring
• Manage ventilated patients and advanced life-support equipment
• Administer and titrate critical care medications and infusions
• Collaborate with intensivists and multidisciplinary teams
• Respond to emergencies and rapidly changing patient conditions
• Document care accurately using EPIC EMR
