About The Position

As an RN in Summit Care Center, you’ll lead your shift and support safe, high-quality care for approximately 27 skilled nursing residents. You’ll administer medications and treatments, respond to changes in condition, coordinate care with the team, and document in PointClickCare to support compliance and resident safety and wellbeing. Requirements

  • Active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Current BLS certification at the healthcare-provider level (CPR and AED with hands-on skills)
  • Strong observation skill and ability to recognize subtle change in resident condition
  • Clear communication and teamwork skill within an interdisciplinary care environment
  • Understanding of dementia care approach and person-centered care principle
  • You bring strong personal ownership for resident safety, medication accuracy, and follow-through on clinical concern
  • You bring structured, organized workflow when managing complex task such as medication pass, treatment, and documentation, with attention to detail
  • You bring the ability to prioritize competing clinical demand effectively and maintain focus on what matter most for resident safety
  • You bring the ability to clearly explain clinical concern, provide direction to CNA, and communicate effectively with physician and family
  • You bring the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to the emotional and behavioral need of resident, particularly those living with dementia, and promote a calm and respectful environment
  • You bring the ability to evaluate resident data, symptom, and trend to identify potential clinical concern early and anticipate risk or complication

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a skilled nursing facility, assisted living community, or long-term care environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the clinical leader on the shift and coordinate safe care delivery
  • Provide clinical oversight and guidance to LPN and Certified Nursing Assistant to ensure safe, coordinated care delivery
  • Monitor resident care need and assign task to ensure timely and safe care practice
  • Recognize and respond to change in resident condition using sound clinical judgment and communicate change in condition to physician, family, and leadership
  • Conduct nursing assessment including admission assessment and evaluation following fall, injury, wound, or medication error, and perform and oversee treatment including wound care and IV therapy as indicated
  • Complete incident report and contribute to fall review process
  • Assess and respond to behavioral expression associated with dementia using supportive, non-pharmacologic intervention and support a calm, respectful care environment
  • Ensure medication and treatment are administered safely and accurately, including oral, injectable, IV, and tube feeding medication according to physician order and nursing standard
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the PointClickCare (PCC) system and maintain appropriate narcotic control, medication storage, and regulatory compliance related to medication management
