The Dozoretz Hospice House of Hampton Roads is a nonprofit organization that provides compassionate respite and end-of-life care for those on hospice services in a peaceful and homelike environment. To learn more: https://hospicehousehr.org/ As a Hospice Registered Nurse (RN), you will carry out the hospice interdisciplinary plan of care by providing compassionate, palliative nursing care services. You will communicate with interdisciplinary team members, and accurately document care provided. Provide clinical services in accordance with organizational policies and procedures and regulations that define scope of practice.

Requirements

Unencumbered Virginia license as a Registered Nurse.
At least 2 years of experience in skilled nursing, assisted living or home health nursing.
Current CPR certification (Basic Life Support)
Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication.
Must be able to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and relief of an obstructed airway.
Must be able to meet deadlines, work under limited supervision.
Valid state driver's license.
Motor Vehicle Driving Record and Proof of Motor Vehicle Insurance satisfactory to Westminster-Canterbury and its insurance providers.
Flu-Vaccinated

Nice To Haves

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Nursing experience, preferably in Hospice setting
Proficiency in electronic health records and technology, including Microsoft and Google applications.
COVID-19 Vaccinated. As of now, the 2025-2026 COVID-19 vaccine formulation is being distributed to providers and pharmacies; however, it has not yet received official approval from the CDC. In Virginia, pharmacists may administer COVID-19 vaccines under the Virginia Board of Pharmacy's statewide protocols or with a direct order from a licensed medical provider. We encourage all new hires to consult with their healthcare provider regarding the most current vaccination recommendations. Please be aware that, depending on future CDC guidance or regulatory updates, we may require proof of the most recent COVID-19 vaccination as part of our ongoing commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

Prepare the clinical and progress notes documenting outcomes of interventions.
Perform specialized duties related to end-of-life care.
Provide guidance and clinical support for the Hospice LPN and others.
Carry out the plan of care.
Prepare equipment and materials for treatment adhering to aseptic technique as required.
Assist the patient in learning appropriate self-care techniques.
Assess patient/family response to care.
Ensure communication of information to appropriate team members.
Rotate on call as needed.
