We deliver care for serious life-threatening injuries/illnesses, and your everyday health needs, including labor and delivery. We offer specialty care for heart/vascular disease, lung and sleep disorders, mental health conditions, and women's health. We offer a wide range of outpatient services, including diagnostic imaging, lab tests, respiratory therapy and rehabilitation therapy services. What You'll Do As a Neuro/Ortho Unit Registered Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Associates of Applied Science in Nursing (AAS) Degree or Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) or RN Diploma at start date.
  • BSN is required within six (6) years of start date.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
  • In collaboration with the patient and/or family, and healthcare team, participates in open discussion to identify mutual goals based on the nursing assessment and nursing diagnosis.
  • Diagnoses, treats and evaluates the human response to actual or potential health problems/needs.
  • Assesses, detects, monitors and attempts to prevent complications associated with health situations or treatment plans.
  • Notifies the physician of patient condition and response to nursing intervention appropriately and documents this action.
  • Insures that patients pain is assessed, treated, reassessed, documented and evaluated. Adheres to policies and Procedures for Pain Management.
  • Delegation to other licensed and unlicensed care providers based on clinical nursing judgment and skill of the care provider.
