About The Position

FlexStaff is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to work for our external client, a compassionate community services non-profit organization, at their adult day care and habilitation facility located in Bronx, NY. Position: Registered Nurse Location: Adult Day Care/Habilitation Facility, Bronx, NY Job Type: Temp-to-Hire, Full-Time Schedule: Enjoy a work-life balance with a Monday-Friday schedule from 9 AM to 4:30 PM (35 hours per week). Say goodbye to working on weekends and holidays! Key Responsibilities: Conduct evaluations and provide diagnoses and therapeutic interventions tailored to the needs of our clients. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for individuals.

Requirements

  • A graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a community-based health services setting.
  • Valid NYS Registered Nurse license and current registration in good standing.
  • CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid New York State Driver’s License is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Arranges medical services for persons served and issues medical referrals as needed.
  • Provides follow-up on medical problems for persons served.
  • Conducts training for staff in medical administration, personal hygiene, basic first aid, dental hygiene, infection control, adaptive equipment, vital signs, signs and symptoms of illness and other in-services as may be necessary to meet needs of persons served.
  • Handles control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and assessment, reporting to consulting physician and implementation of appropriate protective and preventive measures and staff training in regard to infection control.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews as required by each division.
  • Monitors required staff health records and provides tests in accordance with regulatory agency requirements.
  • Provides immediate first aid with referral to outside emergency services or private physician.
  • Participates in routine individual case reviews.
  • Prepares and maintains medical documentation on each person served
  • Administers medications when appropriate, and supervises certified staff in administration.
  • Supervises storage of medications.
  • Provides supervision and training for Licensed Practical Nurses and/or less experienced Registered Nurses during their tenure at agency.
