About The Position

Our Oncology Unit is a 24 bed newly-renovated, fast paced Acute Care unit. Nurses receive support from ancillary interdisciplinary team members as well as patient care technicians. We care for the adult population with a variety of diagnoses, such as: Primary cancer diagnosis: breast, lung, colon, Chemotherapy administration (once certified) and symptom management, Blood dyscrasias: anemia, hemophilia, sickle cell, and General Med/Surg overflow.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
