Registered Nurse (RN) Surgical ICU/Cardiothoracic ICU 36 Hours Night Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) Surgical ICU 36 Hours Day/Night Rotation with an every third weekend commitment and holiday rotation. The Surgical Intensive Care Unit is a 24 - bed high acuity unit with clinical specialties in General Surgery, Trauma, Transplant, and Cardiothoracic Surgery . As a level one trauma center, we work closely with our multidisciplinary teams to provide high quality, patient centered care. In addition, this unit sees a wide variety of acutely ill patients who may require additional acute therapies . O ur nurses are experts in caring for these patient populations and are continuously enhancing their knowledge to ensure we are up to date with the latest practices and technologies . We , as members of this team, are committed to the delivery of safe, high-quality care to our patients and their families. The Surgical Intensive Care Unit offers a professional pathway for those nurses looking to build their resume and progress in their career. Lahey Hospital & Medical Center utilizes EPIC for computerized charting and medication administration. Computerized self-scheduling is available along with every third weekend rotation.
Requirements
- BSN preferred
- BLS required
- ACLS certification preferred
- At least 1 year of previous of Nursing experience in acute care or sub-acute setting required
- Critical Care and Telemetry experience preferred
- Massachusetts registered Nurse license required
- Demonstrate critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/ comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
- Lifting 75 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs
