The Registered Nurse (RN) resident under the Nursing Residency Program provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities, and patient populations. The Residency Programs are designed to build on the educational foundation of the novice RN. Every participant in the program is responsible for providing safe, holistic care to patients throughout the continuum of this program which is designed to offer up to 6 months of didactic learning and clinical practice preceptorship to achieve the programs core objectives. Each RN Resident will receive valuable mentorship and skill development within a supportive team environment. The RN’s care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics and meets the standards/expectations of Professional Practice. Professional accountability enriches the RN’s engagement as a leader in promoting an inter-professional culture of collaborative decision-making, innovation, life-long learning, and teamwork. About the team: This unit is devoted to developing amazing nurses through continuous learning and teamwork-centered care. Caring team that values each other both professionally and personally Supportive and cooperative team dynamic; team is there to help each other out We employ trauma-informed care to help with treating patients and each other with empathy to process and communicate in high-stress stituations. About the departments: Our 4West-General Acute Care Unit is a 25 bed telemetry unit dedicated to the care of adult patients who require varied inpatient care. Our Observation unit is a 9 patient unit dedicated to efficient care of patients from the Emergency Department who do not meet inpatient admission status.
