Role Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) at Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive nursing care within the Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) and outpatient services in Ithaca, NY. This role focuses on supporting individuals impacted by Opioid Use Disorder through compassionate, trauma-informed, and nonjudgmental care, while ensuring compliance with clinical, regulatory, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent combination of education and experience in behavioral health
  • License: Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, or outpatient clinical settings
  • Minimum 1 year experience providing direct patient care, nursing assessments, and clinical documentation
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to multitask, perform crisis intervention, maintain professional treatment boundaries, and communicate effectively with diverse populations

Nice To Haves

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in behavioral health and/or substance use disorder treatment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct professional nursing care to clients within scope of practice in the OTP clinic and, as needed, on the Mobile Medication Unit
  • Complete nursing assessments including vital signs, risk assessments, and withdrawal assessments in accordance with OASAS regulations and timelines
  • Administer medications and implement nursing interventions in accordance with facility policies and provider orders
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in electronic and paper medical records
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary treatment team members regarding client medical needs and care coordination
