Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with up to six months of Registered Nurse experience.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license within the state of California and BLS certified.
  • Commitment to HIPAA and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing services for underserved populations.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous nursing experience in a similar healthcare facility setting.
  • Fluency in additional languages preferred.
  • Computer literate in general office functions such as MS Word and email.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcomes.
  • Consults with specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes accordingly.
  • Performs head-to-toe assessments and reassessments as per policy.
  • Educates patients and families regarding pain management and care processes.
  • Maintains accurate nursing documentation including patient histories and conditions.
  • Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
  • Functions as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring and identifies dysrhythmias.
  • Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
  • Assists in cost containment through appropriate ordering and conserving of supplies.
