The RN Wound/Enterostomy implements and evaluates the activities for total patient care, following outlined protocols, in the delivery of acute and chronic wound care, enterostomy care, and hyperbaric treatments. Will demonstrate competency in and be responsible for treating various types of patients seen including critically ill and chronically ill patients, ranging in age from pediatric to geriatric. Performs various educational activities, including infection control, aseptic dressing technique, and preventive care. Educates patient, significant other and/or caretaker, including a return demonstration within the Medical Center and community. Area of focus may be inpatient or outpatient.

  • Implement and evaluate activities for total patient care.
  • Deliver acute and chronic wound care.
  • Provide enterostomy care and hyperbaric treatments.
  • Demonstrate competency in treating critically ill and chronically ill patients.
  • Perform educational activities on infection control and preventive care.
  • Educate patients and caretakers, including return demonstrations.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • 2 years of nursing experience.
  • IL Reg Nurse License or MI Reg Nurse License.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience with Hyperbarics.
  • Wound Care certification or Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse.
  • ACLS certification.
