Registered Nurse (RN) – Women’s Health Full Time, Third Shift Women’s & Children’s Services consist of an 18-bed private unit providing comprehensive, patient- and family-centered postpartum care for both mothers and their newborns. The unit emphasizes maternal recovery, newborn well-being, education, and support while ensuring a safe, comfortable environment that promotes bonding and family involvement. Provides comprehensive nursing care using specialized clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills. Delivers patient-centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation while coordinating with the multidisciplinary care team. May provide indirect supervision to LPNs, CNAs, and support staff. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current RN license in the state of Kentucky (or Kentucky work permit)
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • No prior experience required (patient care experience preferred)
  • BLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP required within 90 days of hire
  • Clinical, bedside, patient-facing role
  • Populations served: Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric
  • Limited/indirect supervisory responsibility

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document initial and ongoing patient assessments
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care
  • Administer treatments, medications, and procedures per policy
  • Monitor patient status and respond to changes or emergencies
  • Educate patients and families and support discharge planning
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and care team members
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and support unit workflow
  • Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance
  • Participate in rounding, handoff reports, and shared governance activities
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation
