About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Vascular Access and Medical-Surgical nursing to join a clinical team supporting patients requiring intravenous therapy. The RN will be responsible for the assessment, insertion, and management of vascular access devices , including PICCs, midlines, and ultrasound-guided IVs , particularly for patients with difficult vascular access. The nurse will collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective vascular access management and optimal patient outcomes .

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience
  • Minimum 1 year of vascular access experience
  • Expertise in PICCs, Midlines, and Ultrasound-Guided IV placement
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and within interdisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities
  • High attention to detail, patient safety, and infection control standards

Nice To Haves

  • Experience conducting Vascular Access Team (VAT) consultations
  • Strong knowledge of IV therapy, vascular device selection, and ultrasound-guided access

Responsibilities

  • Vascular Access Procedures
  • Insert Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCs), Midline Catheters, and Ultrasound-Guided IVs
  • Perform vascular access procedures for patients with difficult IV access
  • Assess and determine the appropriate vascular access device based on patient condition and treatment requirements
  • Maintain strict sterile technique and infection prevention protocols
  • Patient Assessment & Care
  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for patients requiring vascular access
  • Review patient medical history and clinical records prior to procedures
  • Educate patients about vascular access procedures and care
  • Monitor patients for post-procedure complications and catheter functionality
  • Clinical Collaboration
  • Provide clinical support to physicians, nursing teams, and healthcare providers
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and treatment plans
  • Participate in Vascular Access Team (VAT) consultations and evaluations
  • Staff Education & Support
  • Provide guidance and training to clinical staff on vascular access procedures
  • Support nursing teams with best practices for IV therapy and device management
  • Participate in departmental training and professional development initiatives
  • Documentation & Compliance
  • Accurately document procedures, patient assessments, and outcomes
  • Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Utilize the nursing process to deliver safe and effective patient care
