Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) (Urology Practice) Location: Port Jefferson, NY Hours/Days: 4/10s- RDO Tues; 7:30am-6:00pm Organization: New York Health (NYH) In this role, you will: Create individualized care plans for patients under your supervision and care. Monitor and chart vital signs, weight, and height. Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge Assist physician with exams and/or urologic procedures Sterilize surgical instruments Prepare and administer injections Provide supportive resources to the patient and the families to promote a positive outlook. Teach patients and the families regarding treatment expectations. Watch and record the patient’s progress on a constant basis Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication. Complete MAR after treatment. Provide the patient with discharge instructions that are specific to the patient as well as emergency numbers after care.

Requirements

  • Valid New York State RN License
  • 1 + years of procedural experience (required)
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
  • Frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient bodily fluids.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
