About The Position

The RN Unit Manager is responsible for supervising the day-to-day nursing activities within the facility, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves managing clinical care for residents, assigning tasks to nursing staff, and maintaining high standards of quality care. The RN Unit Manager plays a crucial role in team development, communication, and the overall operational efficiency of the nursing department.

Requirements

  • Current RN License in the State of Michigan.
  • Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited institution.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in Long-Term Care and MDS preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and team development skills.

  • Ability to relate positively with residents and families.
  • Knowledge of infection control standards and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day nursing activities in accordance with regulations.
  • Manage clinical care of residents by assigning tasks to nursing staff.
  • Conduct frequent rounds to assess resident conditions and staff performance.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of assigned work areas and medication rooms.
  • Attend staff meetings and assist the Director of Nursing in daily functions.
  • Complete medical forms, reports, and evaluations as necessary.
  • Provide staff training on policies and procedures as directed by the DON.
  • Conduct shift meetings with nursing staff to facilitate communication.
  • Monitor residents' physical and emotional status daily.
  • Notify physicians and families of changes in residents' conditions.
