Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator for the Intermediate Care/Step Down Unit. This position is part-time, requiring 24 hours per week during the night shift. The RN Unit Coordinator will demonstrate proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provide clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in the department. Under the direction of the department manager, the RN will lead safety and quality initiatives, simplify workflow, and contribute to the development of staff. The unit has 24 beds and handles various diagnoses, including medical, surgical, cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, or traumatic injuries, requiring cardiac monitoring. The most frequent diagnoses include cardiovascular issues such as syncope, angina, chest pain, and congestive heart failure. This is an exciting time to join our team as we are looking to the future of our new facility with anticipated completion in August 2025. The new hospital will be built on a 135-acre site and will feature a modern, high-efficiency, patient-centric layout.
