About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Telemetry / Step-Down Unit is responsible for evaluating patients, assisting physicians, and delivering high-quality patient-centered care. The RN will assess patient conditions, develop individualized care plans, and implement therapeutic nursing interventions while adhering to professional nursing practice standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry nursing experience .
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) .
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing .
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state license or compact license).
  • BLS (AHA) certification.
  • ACLS certification .
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • Telemetry Certification .
  • Stroke Education: 4 CEU Contact Hours .
  • Care of cardiac telemetry patients .
  • Experience with chest tubes .
  • Experience caring for post–cardiac catheterization patients .

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) .
  • Telemetry certification or Telemetry competency exam .

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and assist physicians with treatment and patient care.
  • Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs.
  • Perform patient assessments and determine care priorities through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation .
  • Develop and coordinate individualized plans of care based on ongoing patient assessments.
  • Provide therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care.
  • Document patient care according to clinical standards and best practices .
  • Advocate for evidence-based nursing practices and quality patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
