About The Position

Texas Health is seeking a passionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time night shift Charge RN position in the Cardiac Telemetry Department at Texas Health Southwest in Fort Worth, TX. The 28-bed Telemetry Department provides telemetry and Med/Surg level of care for adult to geriatric general medical/surgical, endocrine, GI/renal patient populations. The department maintains a patient to nurse ratio of 4/5:1 on days and 5/6:1 on nights, with nurses working 12-hour shifts. Texas Health is a MAGNET facility and a Level III Trauma Center. The role offers self-scheduling for work/life balance and excellent opportunities for educational and career growth, including advancement into leadership.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • ACLS – within 90 days of hire
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
  • 1-year experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting
  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
  • Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
  • Have basic computer skills using medical management application systems

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • 2-years’ experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred
  • Current Tele experience strongly preferred

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
  • Directly assist leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed
