About The Position

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neuro Surgical ICU Department at the University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank in Minneapolis, MN. This role involves providing critical care to adult surgical patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced interventions. The RN will work 0.75 FTE on the night shift, with a commitment to every third weekend, and will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and coordinating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • MN RN License
  • BLS Certification
  • AD required
  • Critical care experience
  • Hospital experience

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or higher preferred
  • Certification in related specialty is highly desired
  • A minimum of one year current medical surgical RN experience in a Hospital setting is preferred
  • One year adult critical care experience is preferred
  • Certification by the American Association of Critical Care Nursing or in a related specialty is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assessing patient needs and identifying expected nursing outcomes
  • Developing an individualized nursing plan of care
  • Implementing interventions as needed during treatment based on the plan of care
  • Evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes
  • Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes
  • Coordinating care with members of the health care team and delegating responsibilities to others as appropriate
  • Demonstrating the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes
  • Promoting a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) by participating in a multitude of available opportunities
  • Performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act
