About The Position

Raleigh General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time, day shift position in Surgery. This role is located in-person. Raleigh General is a 300-bed hospital in Beckley, WV, and is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network with acute care, rehabilitation, and behavioral health facilities nationwide.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing Required
  • Current RN to practice in the state of (KY)
  • New Graduates may work under a KY provisional license for up to 6 months with the expectation that an RN license will be obtained within the first 6 months of employment. If an RN license is not earned within 6 months of employment, the provisional licensee must immediately cease practicing in a licensed nursing position.
  • BCLS certification
  • ACLS & PALS required within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
