About The Position

Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for 2 South- Stroke/Telemetry . This is a Full Time, Day shift position in Suffolk, VA. Sign on Bonus up to $15,000 available for qualified candidates! Hours: 7a-7p with rotating weekend schedule. The Stroke/Telemetry Unit at Sentara Obici Hospital provides care for patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post- coronary interventions, post-ablation, myocardial infarctions. 2 South also cares for pre/post catheterization, acute stroke, and post procedural neuro cases. This 25-bed unit sees a ratio of 1:5 with mixed patient acuity levels. Patient Care Techs assist with a ratio of 1:8 on average. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. Requirements

Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
Students in process of completing an accredited nursing program.
Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License
BLS within 90 days of hire.
Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
NIH within 1 year of hire

Nice To Haves

BSN or MSN preferred.
Acute care nursing experience preferred
Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred
