Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care (Step down) – Memorial Regional Medical Center: Progressive Care Step Down Unit: Fast paced, high acuity stepdown unit caring for complex patient population including post-operative cardiac surgery, general surgery, septic, respiratory failure, DKA, and advanced heart failure. RNs are supported through telemetry and ACLS certifications. Cardiopulmonary Care Step Down Unit: Fast paced stepdown unit dedicated to the Cardiopulmonary patient population including pneumonia sepsis, Afib, NSTEMI, and advanced heart failure. RNs are supported through telemetry and ACLS certifications. Cardiac Medical Stepdown Unit (CMSU): is a small stepdown unit which takes patients requiring close monitoring and includes interventions like BIPAP, titrating cardiac drips, high acuity sepsis and surgical patients. Job Summary: The Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by: Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status Acting as the service line between Med-Surg and ICU units Determining the priority of the patient’s problems and needs Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
- 1 year of RN experience
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science Nursing
- 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
- Serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments
- Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department
- Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization’s policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
