About The Position

The RN Clinical Float Pool assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for the organization including those for patient assessment and transfer. The primary function of this job, based on hiring tier, is to be available and flexible to float to various departments, and sites throughout the markets within the organization to provide patient care, which could include but not limited to scheduling day of staffing, more than one assignment unit within a single shift, or seasonal staffing patterns. Participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of a clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse.

Requirements

  • Associate's of Nursing (required)
  • Current nursing license in the designated state of employment (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in acute care (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's of Nursing (BSN) (preferred)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (based on specialty assignment)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (based on specialty assignment)
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record knowledge (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Float to a variety of departments in the hospital based on competency and staffing needs.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement and departmental activities.
  • Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
  • Incorporate the professional practice model into care delivery.
  • Plan and coordinate nursing care and clinical decisions using the best available evidence.
  • Formulate and implement a plan of care for each patient, including interventions and evaluations.
