About the position

At Bon Secours Mercy Health, we are dedicated to continually improving health care quality, safety and cost effectiveness. Our hospitals, care sites and clinicians are recognized for clinical and operational excellence. RNs could receive a sign-on bonus up to $15,000 with 1 year prior experience in specialty. New Grad RNs could receive a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000. The primary function of this role is to deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifying and determining the priority of patient's problems/needs, and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care. The role also involves coordinating, providing, and directing patient teaching activities and coordinating the care provided by health team members.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Analyze assessment data and create a plan of care.
  • Implement treatment and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
  • Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and organization policies and procedures.
  • Serve as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
  • Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
