About The Position

Overview Acts as an internal consultant to further value through quality assurance and innovation of systems. Works with senior leaders, clinicians, managers, and staff to develop and implement improvements in quality, safety, and efficiency. Expands the capabilities of clinicians, managers and administrators by providing them with resources to accomplish specific objectives. Responsibilities Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of structures and processes (which may be department or discipline-specific or organization-wide) that support clinical and non-clinical improvement and patient safety, enable the collection, storage, and analysis of improvement and safety data, and comply with external regulatory agency requirements. Uses clinical knowledge in formal and informal consultation with individual staff and clinicians, managers, committees/teams and Risk Management to identify and address clinical quality and safety concerns. Leads, facilitates, and participates in clinical adverse event task groups. Develops strategies to perform in-depth data collection and data and process analyses to identify opportunities for improvement and provide input into institutional decision making and goal setting. Uses modern measurement methodology to analyze and represent improvement and safety data. Leads, facilitates and supports value improvement and patient safety across the D-H system through application of modern improvement thinking (e.g. Microsystem Thinking, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) to all assigned initiatives. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with a Master’s degree in a Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health or healthcare-related field with 5 years of clinical practice experience required.
  • Prior experience applying modern improvement methodology to lead change required.
  • Demonstrated excellence in facilitation, teaching and interpersonal skills as well as experience in the concepts and applications of continuous improvement are essential.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse with NH eligibility

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in modern improvement methodology (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) and/or Professional Project Management and/or Healthcare Quality preferred.
  • Prior health systems experience preferred.
