About The Position

The Richmond Float Team offers flexibility for Registered Nurses. Float nurses adhere to all Bon Secours policies and procedures and are deployed to various sites within the Richmond market. They float to all inpatient units, including Med Surg, Telemetry, Step Down, and Critical Care, based on their skill set. The facilities include St. Mary’s Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, Richmond Community Hospital, Memorial Regional Medical Center, and Southside Medical Center. Unit availability encompasses Med Surg (Ortho, Oncology), Step Down/Telemetry, Progressive Care (PCU), Critical Care/Intensive Care (ICU/CCU), Behavioral Health (requiring floor med/surg experience), and Emergency Department (ER). The role offers 36 hours a week with self-scheduling, requiring one summer and one winter holiday, and every third weekend.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association required
• Two or more years clinical RN experience required in at least 2 or more specialties

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Provide advanced treatment and care to patients with complex diagnoses
• Evaluates, updates and revises plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
• Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and Bon Secours policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
