About The Position

Sentara Virginia Beach GH is hiring a Registered Nurse for their Hospital Resource Pool - ICU. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Requirements

• ADN required, BSN or higher preferred.
• Virginia or compact multistate RN license in good standing.
• Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum of 18 months nursing experience required.
• Recent ICU experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process.
• Conduct assessments, diagnoses, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation.
• Demonstrate professional performance standards including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
