About The Position

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Regional Float Pool in Southern IL. Ideal candidates are patient focused, mission driven caregivers looking for an opportunity to apply clinical knowledge to coordinate and perform hands on acute patient care at the bedside. The Registered Nurse (RN)-Regional Float is designated to float to ministries/units across a region (multiple ministries) within the state. Will float to specialty area(s) based on RN competency level. Completes appropriate competency and cross-training required to float to designated units. Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families, and supervising assigned team members. Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards, making or recommending necessary adjustments, and following nursing philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations. Float may be assigned to units/ministries reflecting lower level patient acuity based on needs of the organization.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice.
  • 2 years experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
  • Certification in area of specialty is preferred but may be required to float.

Responsibilities
