You'll coordinate with anesthesia, surgeons, and perioperative teammates to deliver safe, efficient care that meets ASPAN standards-while supporting our culture of teamwork, quality, and patient experience.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in the State of Arizona (or compact).
  • BLS (AHA).
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • PALS (AHA)
  • 1+ year recent experience in Pre-Op, PACU, ICU, ED, or Telemetry/Step-Down
  • Competence in IV insertion, EKG recognition, and post-anesthesia recovery.
  • Strong airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, and patient-education skills.

  • Experience coordinating fast-paced, same-day surgical throughput.

Responsibilities

  • Complete thorough pre-operative assessments (physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety/risk) and optimize patients for surgery, including medication reconciliation, consent verification, and patient/family education.
  • Prepare patients for anesthesia (IV starts, labs/diagnostics as needed, surgical site and NPO verification).
  • Provide PACU care: airway management, hemodynamic/respiratory monitoring, pain and PONV management, Aldrete scoring, and safe progression to discharge or inpatient transfer.
  • Collaborate and communicate with anesthesia, surgeons, and perioperative staff to individualize plans of care and meet patient goals.
  • Serve as charge RN on occasion; precept/mentor as assigned; float within Pre-Op/PACU areas as needed.
