About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Recovery Room at San Dimas Community Hospital is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, coordinating post-operative care with surgeons and anesthesiologists, and ensuring adherence to hospital policies and standards. The RN will work in a fast-paced environment, providing care to patients recovering from surgery and monitoring their clinical conditions.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS (AHA) certificate preferred.
• Previous Critical Care or PACU experience or minimum of one year on-the-job training.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services.
• Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Coordinate post-operative care with the surgeon and anesthesiologist.
• Direct and guide other personnel while maintaining standards of care in the PACU.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patients' clinical conditions.
• Work with other departments to provide quality patient care and efficient patient flow.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services.
• Act as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.
