About The Position

POSITION PURPOSE Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse. The Radiation Oncology RN provides quality patient care through competent practice and application of the nursing process in an outpatient setting. Contingent position. Eight-hour, Day shift, no weekends, and no holidays. The selected candidate will be supporting our Radiation Oncology offices covering scheduled and unscheduled absences. They will have the opportunity to support locations in Ann Arbor, Brighton, Canton, Chelsea and Livonia. WHAT YOU WILL DO Accepts accountability for coordination of the nursing care of specific patients with complex medical and nursing needs as directed by the MDs within the department of radiation oncology. Serves a clinical resource to others within the cancer program, and functions in a consultative relationship with health team members. Under limited supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan. The RN interprets and performs complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise. RNs are members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care. The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame.

Requirements

  • Current Michigan Nursing License
  • Graduation from accredited nursing program (Effective January 1, 2013, all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire.)
  • 2 years of experience, those with Rad Onc or Oncology experience encouraged to apply.
