About The Position

A leading acute care facility in Rochester, NY is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignment. This role supports adult and geriatric patients requiring step-down level monitoring, including post-surgical and long-term pulmonary patients. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and demonstrate strong clinical judgment and teamwork skills.

Requirements

• Active New York State RN license (compact licenses not accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Recent PCU / Stepdown / IMC / DOU experience
• EPIC charting experience required
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Responsibilities

• Deliver step-down level nursing care to PCU patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize/manage dysrhythmias
• Respond to Rapid Response and Code situations per protocol
• Administer oxygen therapy and manage non-invasive airways
• Manage non-titrated cardiac drips and administer blood products
• Perform central and peripheral line care
• Provide IV therapy, phlebotomy, and maintain isolation precautions
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR
• Float to other units within scope of practice as needed
