RN Progressive Care Unit (PCU) (with $7,500 Completion Bonus)

About The Position

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse provides high-quality nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and advanced assessment. This position manages patients transitioning from critical care to medical-surgical units, including those with telemetry needs and complex medical conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking, adaptability, and a commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Active RN license (compact or state-specific).
Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU or Progressive Care experience required.
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Telemetry competency required.
Experience with EMR systems (Cerner preferred).
Must be able to work every other weekend; no on-call required.
Positive attitude and teamwork skills essential.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.

Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and progressive care patients with mixed acuity levels.
Monitor, assess, and document changes in patient condition using telemetry and bedside monitoring equipment.
Administer and titrate medications per protocol, including cardiac drips and IV therapies.
Collaborate closely with charge nurses, CNAs, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
Float to other progressive care or medical-surgical units as needed based on facility requirements.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records and adhere to hospital policies and safety standards.
