Clark Regional Medical Center is a 79 bed community hospital featuring updated technology including new and expanded services such as Diagnostic Services, larger capacity Emergency Services, home-like Labor and Delivery Suites, and a skilled nursing facility. The campus also includes a 45,000 square foot Medical Plaza housing the Clark Clinic, Diagnostic Center for Women, Center for Rehabilitation, Specialty Clinic and Anticoagulation Clinic. As a PreOp/PACU RN, you will: Assess and care for the surgical patient throughout the perioperative process by performing preadmission testing, preparing the patient day of surgery and providing care for Phase I, Phase II and Extended Level of Care after surgery.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing, required
  • Current RN to practice in the state of KY
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - within 10 (ten) days of hire
  • ACLS - within six months of hire
  • PALS - within six months of hire
  • Registered Nurse - Kentucky State Licensure or Compact Licensure Required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Document patient care given.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances throughout the perioperative process.
  • Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
