About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Pre-Op/PACU department at Berkeley Hospital is responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. This role involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team to ensure effective patient care coordination and safety advocacy, while also providing education and support to patients and their families.

Requirements

• Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required).
• Associate of Nursing or Diploma in Nursing (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required at hire).
• Knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and future innovations.
• Application of the nursing process in patient care delivery.
• Effective stewardship of available resources.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Analyze assessment data and create a plan of care.
• Implement treatment and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Administer medications safely according to state practice and organizational policies.
• Coordinate care provided by health team members.
• Act as a point of contact for patient care coordination throughout hospital departments.
