About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Same Day Surgery is responsible for delivering and coordinating patient-centered care, ensuring a safe environment and optimal patient experience. This role involves post-surgical recovery, preoperative services, and acting as a patient experience nurse liaison. The RN will utilize evidence-based practices and clinical decision-making to support patients' transitions to other healthcare systems or home communities.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current Illinois RN license.
• BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with an agreement to enroll in a BSN completion program within four years for nurses with less than 12 months of experience.
• One year of PACU or ICU experience required.
• Current AHA CPR and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care in the PACU and Same Day Surgery settings.

• Act as a liaison for patient experience, ensuring effective communication and support.
• Participate in cross-training for various nursing roles within the unit.
