About The Position

Thank you for considering a career at Roper St. Francis Healthcare! Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Work Shift: Days/Evenings (United States of America) Position Start: 1/2026. Required: Must have at least 1 year of experience as an RN. Strongly Preferred: PACU, ICU, or ED experience. Hours: Scheduled hours will vary between the hours of 6:00am to 7:30pm. Schedule will be three 12hr. shifts. Mostly Monday through Friday. Call requirements: 3-4 weeknight calls and one 48hr. weekend call during a 6 week schedule. It is required to be onsite within 30 minutes if called in.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 1 year of experience as an RN.
  • Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required).
  • Associate of Nursing, nursing (required) OR Diploma in Nursing (required).
  • BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH).

Nice To Haves

  • PACU, ICU, or ED experience.
  • Bachelors of Science, nursing (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment.
  • Identifies and determines the priority of patient’s problems/needs.
  • Evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care.
  • Coordinates, provides and directs patient teaching activities.
  • Coordinates the care provided by health team members.
  • Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Analyzes assessment data and creates a plan of care.
  • Implements treatment and evaluates treatment effectiveness.
  • Administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and organization policies and procedures.
  • Acts as a point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
  • Participates in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
