About The Position

Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital is expanding to serve more of the community, doubling its bed capacity as part of a major expansion set for completion in early 2026. This growth will bring expanded services to emergency, cardiology, orthopedics, obstetrics, neurology, inpatient dialysis, and additional specialties in our Medical Office Building. The position starts in January 2026, and PACU experience is strongly preferred. The working hours are from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Requirements

• PACU experience strongly preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (required at hire).
• Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required).
• Associate of Nursing or Diploma in Nursing (required).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment.
• Identifies and determines the priority of patient's problems/needs.
• Evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care.
• Coordinates, provides, and directs patient teaching activities.
• Coordinates the care provided by health team members.
• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Analyzes assessment data and creates a plan of care.
• Implements treatment and evaluates treatment effectiveness.
• Administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and organization policies and procedures.
• Acts as a point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
• Participates in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
