About The Position

The Caswood Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurses to provide comprehensive care in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in a military hospital in GUAM. This position is for a full year with the potential to extend. This role is critical in delivering life-saving, professional nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients with complex medical and surgical conditions. Requirements

  • Licensure: Current, active, full, and unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state or territory.
  • Experience: Minimum of 18 months of full-time experience as an RN in a PICU within the last 24 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Health & Safety: Must meet all MTF health requirements, including immunizations (Varicella, MMR, TDAP, Influenza, Hepatitis B), annual TB screening, and N95 respirator fit-testing.
  • Training: Must complete all MTF and DoD-required training (approx. 56 hours of orientation) within 60 days of start.
  • Professionalism: Adhere to strict ethical conduct, Joint Commission standards, and all MTF policies and procedures.
  • Dress Code: Professional scrubs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of RN duties including patient assessment, monitoring, triage, and the execution of physician orders.
  • Render professional intensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients, continually assessing for potential life-threatening crises.
  • Recover stable and unstable pediatric patients from general/regional anesthesia and deep sedation.
  • Administer a wide variety of rapid-acting medications, including direct IV administration, and monitor patient responses.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and interpret data from sophisticated equipment such as mechanical ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring systems.
  • Formulate and implement goal-directed plans of care, involving the patient/family and ensuring an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Provide emotional support, patient/family education, and discharge instructions.
  • Participate in peer review, performance improvement, and staff development activities.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and concise documentation in both manual and electronic health records (MHS Genesis).
  • Provide clinical oversight and guidance to LPNs/LVNs, nursing assistants, and ancillary personnel.
  • Be available for on-call coverage on a rotating basis and may provide RN coverage for medical transports of critically ill children.
