About The Position

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking an experienced PreOp/PACU or Operating Room Nurse for a full-time position as an RN Perioperative Liaison. The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 40 hours per week; hours 10.00am-6.30pm RN Periop Liaison Job Responsibilities Supports/empowers patients and families as they progress through the perioperative continuum. Anticipates patient variances and revises the plan of care when needed. Anticipates patient needs to ensure a smooth transition from the perioperative environment. Facilitates communication amongst the multidisciplinary team, patients and families and collaborates with the healthcare team, incorporating their expertise to lead to desired outcomes. Completes and appropriately documents post operative phone calls. Communicates follow-up information from post-operation phone calls to leaders and members of the multidisciplinary team. Ensures criteria are met for same-day discharge/admission in post operative patients. Participates in quality improvement initiatives and incorporates research findings into nursing practice. Mentors staff in understanding and advocating for the importance of utilizing relationship-based care initiatives in nursing practice. Requirements

  • One year of Preoperative and PACU, and/or OR nursing experience is required
  • Education - Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Associate’s degree. If RN has an Associate’s degree, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date
  • RN License to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider certification via American Heart Association
